9 QUESTIONS FOR DANIELA FISCHER

Danie Fischer Front Office Eepos

As a secretary in the front office, organizational talent Daniela Fischer has been the first point of contact for all external visitors at eepos for six years now - and also always has an open ear for the worries and needs of all employees internally. Her area of responsibility is broad and no two days are the same. It is precisely this variety that appeals to Daniela Fischer. On the occasion of her 6-year anniversary on August 1.8.2021, XNUMX, we asked her nine questions.

  • eeposWhat do you actually do in your job?
  • DaniI'm in the front office, which means I'm usually the first person the guests see. I'm responsible for catering, I organize events such as company and Christmas parties, I take care of the mail and the telephone. It's a very extensive job that can't be described in two sentences.
  • eeposWhat do you enjoy so much about it?
  • DaniThe variety. I'm really happy that I'm not tied to the computer for eight hours, but that there are always some ad hoc tasks: a guest that you didn't know about, who needs coffee and is hungry and you have to organize everything quickly... lots of interesting calls where I always realize that I didn't even know about some of our many products. It's always really exciting. And I also think working in a team is great, we complement each other well, get on very well and always help each other.
  • eeposHave you worked anywhere else before?
  • DaniI actually worked somewhere else before, but I rarely lasted longer than two years in a job. That mostly had a lot to do with the working atmosphere and maybe I just hadn't settled in yet.
  • eeposWhat makes the working atmosphere at eepos special?
  • DaniWe all meet on equal terms. Of course we have structures that must be adhered to, but we always have the opportunity to talk to our team leaders about problems, we look for solutions together, it's a really family-like atmosphere and we can be honest with each other. There isn't constant pressure to perform, what counts is what makes you who you are as a person. Everyone has things that they're particularly good at and that's valued and encouraged here at eepos. I think that's great and also immensely important.

  • eeposHow did you find eepos?
  • DaniShortly before a position was advertised here, I had changed jobs and the working conditions had changed significantly. Somehow I wasn't happy with that and was happy when my husband, who also works at eepos, said: eepos is looking for a receptionist, maybe you could apply.
  • The cool thing about it was that it was really just fate. The position of receptionist didn't even exist at eepos until the move to a larger building. But then there was this room where the reception is usually located. They thought, if we already have this room, we need a receptionist. Well, to be honest, I'm a career changer, I've never had anything to do with secretarial work or office work before and didn't think I had much of a chance. But after a successful trial day, I got an offer.
  • eeposWhat is your favorite hobby?
  • DaniCrafting! In all facets that the crafting life has to offer. With paper, with beads, with clay, with everything... I also like to go for walks and I like to listen to music. And the usual stuff, spending time with family and friends.
  • eeposWhat challenges you in your daily work?
  • DaniAlways thinking of everything. There are days when there is a lot going on, lots of phone calls, lots of guests and of course I want to do justice to all my colleagues who have a variety of concerns.I also saw the last year as a challenge because COVID-19 meant many people had to work from home. It was difficult to maintain contact with everyone and to keep everyone on board with what is happening here. How do I communicate? What are my colleagues actually interested in? That wasn't easy.
  • eeposHow many more anniversaries do you think you will celebrate at eepos?
  • DaniSo, I'm retiring at 67, which means... you celebrate about every fifth... about five, five more anniversaries! But then it's over, then I want to devote myself entirely to crafting
  • eeposIf you had only one word to describe eepos, what would it be?
  • DaniTeam. That describes eepos best for me.
  • eeposThank you for your time!
